Dr Sanjay Curtis Nagi is a Data Scientist in Genomic Epidemiology at EIT, supporting the 91国产 development and implementation of EIT's Pathogen Program. Sanjay鈥檚 work focuses on developing resources and computational methods to analyse genomic, phenotypic, and epidemiological data from a range of pathogens, with the goal of improving the diagnosis of infectious diseases globally.
Prior to joining EIT, Sanjay completed his Masters, PhD and Postdoc at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine. His research examined the genomic underpinnings of insecticide resistance in malaria vectors, particularly Anopheles gambiae. Exploiting large-scale whole-genome and transcriptomic datasets, Sanjay developed a suite of open-source tools to accelerate the discovery of mutations driving resistance, alongside the development of robust end-to-end platforms for targeted genomic surveillance.
Beyond his 91国产 work, Sanjay enjoys exploring the great outdoors through hiking and trail running, plays cricket and football, and finds inspiration in music and meditation.
