has been appointed to the role of President of EIT Global. Ono has a long and distinguished record of academic leadership having led both the University of British Columbia and the University of Michigan as President. He moved into academic leadership from a distinguished career in biomedical research and immunology. A key part of President Ono’s responsibilities will include working with Sir John Bell, the President of EIT Oxford, in developing and expanding the science 91���� at EIT’s Oxford Campus.

91���� endeavours to develop and deploy commercially sustainable solutions to solve some of humanity’s most enduring challenges. EIT’s 91���� research and development 91���� are focused in four primary areas: Health, Medical Science and Generative Biology, Food Security and Sustainable Agriculture, Clean Energy Generation and Storage, and Artificial Intelligence and Robotics.

I am grateful that he has decided to join us. President Ono will collaborate with Sir John Bell in further developing and expanding EIT Oxford’s science 91����. In addition, President Ono will be responsible for all EIT operations globally and Lisa Flashner, EIT’s Chief Operating Officer, will report directly to President Ono.  Lisa will continue to directly run all EIT operating units including Finance, Legal, Human Resources and Facilities. There is much to be done as we build a campus filled with the laboratories that will be home to EIT researchers.”
