Epidemiology Lead

Rebekah Butterfield

Rebekah Butterfield is an Epidemiology Lead in the Pathogen Project within EIT. In her role, she leads cross functional projects to enable pathogen sequencing diagnostics and analysis, as well as leading US partnerships. Previously, Rebekah worked as an infectious disease epidemiologist in Virginia, focused on respiratory disease and hospital acquired infection. Most recently, she was a Principle Scientist at Oracle, working in health information technology and innovation. A graduate of the the University of Virginia, Rebekah obtained her Master's in Public Health from the University of West Florida, where she is now an adjunct instructor for the undergraduate capstone in public health. She is currently completing her Doctorate of Public Health from the George Washington University Milken Institute.

Outside of work, Rebekah paints in oils and watercolor and enjoys exploring US National Parks with her husband, three children, and lazy Labrador Retriever.
