Mark is the Director of Security at EIT, where he leads the design and implementation of security requirements across EIT鈥檚 expanding footprint. He is responsible for security operations and enterprise resilience, ensuring our people, assets, and mission remain protected in a dynamic risk environment.
With over 30 years experience in risk management, Mark served in the British Army Commando Forces for over 17 years, retiring as a Major to work in the private security sector in 2009. Mark was principally deployed as a security consultant, crisis responder and project leader in the private sector. He specialising in project managing technical and architectural physical security, working with private and corporate clients.
Mark鈥檚 military operational deployments in the British Army include command postings to Afghanistan following 9/11, as well as tours in Iraq and the Balkans. As an Army Officer, he also spent 2 years on secondment to Whitehall, working in central government as a military subject matter expert.
As part of his wider Commando training and operations, he has spent numerous winters in Norway training in arctic environments and has co-led expeditions across the Himalayas and to Mount Cook in New Zealand. A proficient skier who has represented Great Britain in World Cup Telemark.
Mark is a graduate of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst & UK Defence Academy; he received an MSc in Design of Information Systems from Cranfield University in 2004.
He currently lives in Oxford with wife and 2 children.
