Juan is an Analyst in the Economics team at EIT, where he transforms complex economic research into practical software solutions. With expertise spanning economics, statistics, and software development, he builds computational frameworks that make economic insights actionable for businesses and policymakers. His work ranges from developing predictive models and user-friendly simulation applications that allow stakeholders to explore economic scenarios, to maintaining cloud infrastructure and pioneering new health measures using big data and AI techniques.
Before joining EIT, Juan worked at the Centre for Economic Performance (CEP) at the London School of Economics, where he leveraged large language models to uncover novel data sources on technology investment and innovation. He also brings experience in data science for public policy, having supported national and sub-national governments on projects spanning energy subsidies, urban planning, and tax policy. His technical portfolio features projects in adaptive learning for online price prediction, graph-based recommender systems, and agentic AI applications.
Juan's academic foundation combines rigorous quantitative training with economic theory, holding an MSc in Statistics from the LSE, an MA in Economics from the University of San Andr茅s, a Licentiate in Economics from the University of Buenos Aires, and a BSc in International Development from the University of London.
Outside the office, Juan enjoys playing football, exploring hiking trails, and practicing piano. He is fluent in Spanish, English, and Italian.
